This survey is part of a master's thesis in spatial planning at the Technical University of Dortmund, Germany. My name is Katharina Handke and I am currently in Kumasi to learn more about the perception of urban heat and its effects. In addition, this survey aims to provide insight into which adaptation measures are already being used by residents and which approaches would be desirable for the future in order to better cope with the increasing heat stress. In particular, the role of nature-based and community-based measures will be examined.
