AESOP Survey on AI integration in Spatial Planning Education in Europe

Thank you very much for taking the time to participate in this survey!

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming spatial planning research, education, and practice worldwide. To explore how European planning schools are responding to these developments, the AESOP Task Force on AI in Planning invites you to share your experience and perspectives.

This initiative was established by the AESOP CoRep at its meeting in Istanbul (July 2025) and aligns with global efforts — including the parallel Task Force on Urban Planning AI launched by ACSP. Together, we aim to understand current approaches and shape future collaboration within our academic community.

This online survey among AESOP member schools is part of this new initiative. It explores how planning schools in Europe perceive the opportunities and challenges that AI brings to spatial planning, and how they are preparing to respond. The survey is intended to lay the groundwork for subsequent activities.

Your participation will greatly support this effort. The survey takes approximately 20 minutes, and is entirely anonymous — no IP addresses or identifying data are collected. Please avoid including any personal information in open-text responses.

The survey will remain open until Tuesday, March 31.

We look forward to your valuable insights!
